While culinary temptations beckon from Santa Barbara to Ventura, some of the area's finest dining takes place right at The Shoals Restaurant.
The innovative cuisine features the freshest of seasonal American ingredients, its flavors, and textures matched only by the beauty of its presentation. The Shoals presents an ever-changing menu specializing in fresh local seafood and produce and offers both indoor or alfresco seating beside the blue Pacific. And for those special business meetings and banquets, the Shoals provides an unforgettable venue.
The Shoals is open Tuesday-Sunday for dinner and Wednesday-Friday for lunch, with brunch available on Saturdays and Sundays. The Lunch and Dinner is presently closed Mondays and Tuesdays but we hope to expand our hours soon.

I had the chicken salad with mango. I thought the salad was on the light side with the chicane salad and the mango.
4.00 for a bread basket with 3 slices of stale French bread is absolutely ridiculous.
Your server is as efficient as she can be given the size of the restaurant and the number of people she is waiting on.
I feel you really need to rethink the bread basket. And typically, walnut bread is offered with the dish I ordered.

Only a small concern. We were hotel stayers on 11/15 at dinner and first stayed in1993 and occasionally after that which we told server upon arriving for dinner that night,
celebrating my husband's birthday. Table next to us had a birthday celebration by server with dessert. I reminded server of his birthday when she asked if we wanted dessert pointing to the other table. She advised it wasn't free and she couldnt do that. With an over $150 dinner bill for 2, just a small scoop of ice cream with a candle would have gone a long way! We will always come back to your hotel since 1993, but not sure of the restaurant.

Our server was fantastic! She was cheerful, friendly, and attentive to our needs during the entire meal. I had a dental procedure so she made sure that I would be able to eat my dinner and at the same time enjoy the flavors. She went out of her way to accommodate my requests. My four year old granddaughter ate the warm bread by herself and still managed to eat her grilled chicken. She had the mango and raspberry sorbet and I had the flourless chocolate cake…delicious! The whole dining experience was wonderful so that when we got back to our room, my granddaughter painted a picture of our server!

We were there for both dinner and brunch. My lamb was a bit too rare. Luckily, no one was watching, so I was able to use my hands to hold the rib and eat it the way it was meant to be eaten! The au gratin potato slab that came with my wife's steak was an amazing bite. It is very addictive. For brunch, my wife had the fish and chips, which were good. The fries are nice and crispy. The burger was tasty, but standard fare. They could work on that. Looking at other's plates, I think I'll com earlier and enjoy the eggs benedict next time. At dinner, we had the flourless chocolate cake, which is very rich and tasty. Could be enough for 2. My personal favorite is their creme brulee, although the spearmint leaf was very conspicuously missing that evening. I love the ambiance. It's really my favorite place to dine. The service was good. Very pleasant staff. I'm a little worried that the overall quality is getting away from the chef a bit, though.

Food was excellent. Best scallops I have tasted. Calamari was tender and fresh. Salad with fresh golden and red beets was delicious. No complaints. The next night we had wine, coffee, and flourless chocolate cake. So rich and decadent. Glad we shared it. Coming for anniversary dinner in July.

We booked a Sunday eve dinner for 6pm. Sat outside on patio for the lovely ocean view. The only thing that bothered us and other patrons were the stealthy pesky seagulls the fly in to grab food from off a table. They were chased away by us a couple times and our server chased them away as well. Not sure how you can keep them away. Otherwise we loved it. Relaxing view and sound of ocean waves is wonderful! Great sunset!

The salmon was delicious and the smash potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, artichoke, broccoli was beautifully displayed on the plate with the salmon. It looked like something you would get at a 5 star fine restaurant. I was very impressed.

Everything was excellent as always. So glad we finally were able to enjoy this beautiful spot on a sunny, Spring day after such a long rainy winter. Was disappointed that you no longer serve your yummy bananas reef for the birthday we were celebrating. But we had it just the same and both enjoyed it! Thanks!
