George & Dragon Hotel

A warm welcome awaits you at The George and Dragon Hotel. We are situated in the picturesque, quintessentially English Village of Long Melford in Sudbury, Suffolk, and provide real ales, good home-cooked food, and regular live entertainment making us one of the most popular venues in Long Melford, Sudbury.

In the winter, coal and log fires entice you in from the cold and in summer our extensive gardens and courtyard offer al fresco dining and a place to relax in the sun.

In our garden areas, we have a very large heated umbrella (7m x 5m) that offers undercover space for smokers and drinkers in all weather and welcomes shades in the summer. The "Gazebo" as it has become fondly known, is a thatched dining pavilion seating up to 8 in comfort, ideal for that special occasion or private eating area. Recently added in January 2021, our Suffolk Guinness Awarded heated house that caters to 6 persons (booking only).

We currently have 2 function rooms that are used for meetings, presentations, or private dining rooms that can seat over 30 persons further have available a brand new extension just been built in July 2020 which can hold up to 60 persons for Weddings, Meetings, Parties, and other events. Or, are you looking for a larger Weddings Venue? Then look no further as our large Marquee can host up to 120 persons seating down.
