23+ year old Italian Restaurant in a stand-alone building with an outdoor patio with producing merlot grape vines growing on the trellises, a large three-tier fountain, and a more private rear terrace/sun room (for up to 16 guests). The patio includes an open-top as well as semi-enclosed (3 sides and top), all with overhead heating units. The Mule Tavern is a neighborhood craft dive bar. We make our ginger beer in house for our signature Moscow Mules and Mule Variations. We also make scratch tonic, house made sour mixes, and Tacoma's best Old Fashioned. Our small kitchen specializes in grilled sandwiches which are served with a light salad or chips. Our most popular sandwich is our Grilled Cheese made with Provolone and Swiss cheeses, on crispy grilled sourdough, and served with our savory tomato soup inspired dipping sauce.
